The Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEI) have announced a new recruitment drive for SST and TGT teaching positions nationwide. About 700 government teaching jobs are up for grabs, making this one of the broadest recruitment campaigns in years.

Both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply. Vacancies span major regions including Punjab, Sindh (Urban and Rural), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The job scales and allocation follow a strict quota system, which ensures fair opportunity distribution.

  • SST (Secondary School Teacher): Grade 17 jobs
    • Roughly 300 positions

Eligibility Criteria and Qualification Requirements

To qualify for SST and TGT jobs in 2025, candidates must meet strict standards for education and age.

Educational Qualifications

The minimum education required for both SST and TGT candidates is a second-class master's degree (or equivalent 16 years of education) from an HEC-recognized university. Applicants must also have teaching qualifications like B.Ed or M.A in Educational Planning and Management (EPM).

Age Limits and Relaxations

The government sets fixed age limits for these posts, but grants relaxations in certain cases.

  • SST Age Limit: 22-30 years (+5 years general relaxation makes it up to 35 years)
  • TGT Age Limit: 22-28 years (+5 years general relaxation makes it up to 33 years)

Special Age Relaxations:

  • 10 years for government employees (after at least 2 years in service)
  • 10 years for disabled candidates
  • 15 years for retired Armed Forces officers
  • 5 years if a parent died during government service
